Biting nails Effects
The nail biting is the singular of nail-biting habit is one of the most common habits that we see in children, youth and adults.
The habit and the need to crack or even eat the nails, is connected to a psycho-emotional state of anxiety that is considered as a reflection of emotional maladjustment.
The incidence decreases after the age of 16. Therefore considered normal between the ages 4-18 years due to its high prevalence in this age group.
The cause of the habit is not yet known. However, people who bite nails have more anxiety than those who do not have the nail biting, no significant difference in relating nail biting anxiety. Others cite the familiar trend, probably due to the act of imitation.

The habit of nail biting can cause serious problems. Nail biting produces injuries that serve as gateway to viruses like HPV, warts-causing skin.
Who swallows pieces of nails may have small lesions in the stomach or intestine. Another factor is, hands may be dirty and the person ends up ingesting germs.

In general, the nail biting is not a matter of concern, and if not stimulated with time disappears. Although, if it is associated with other problems, the picture is more complex and need expert help.

Keep your nails well cut, preventing the evil trimmed tips serve as a temptation for rodents.
Rubber teething ring (Especially when watching film, games, novels, ect.)
Sugarless gum
Occupy the hands of the individual with activities (crafts or instruments).
